Description

Fundraising is the word broadly used to refer to the solicitation
of money for a charitable purpose. In the nonprofit sector,
fundraising refers to the collection of charitable contributions
from donors who may receive a tax deduction as a result.
Professionals who work for nonprofit organizations and are
engaged in the planning and soliciting of contributions are called
fundraisers. Every nonprofit organization in the United States

depends on fundraising for its survival. No nonprofit organiza-
tion can survive, much less flourish, without dedicated employees

engaged in fundraising.
